The overall ambition of the project is to cultivate a thriving transnational and European environment that fosters the exchange of best practices, pioneers innovative approaches and develops state-of-the-art tools for comprehensive training of migrants from third countries. This ambitious vision is anchored in the following objectives:
1. Transnational network for active participation: We envision creating a strong transnational network that extends across local, regional, national and European scales. This interconnected network will catalyse the growth and exchange of innovative practices that enable migrants to actively participate in European society, ultimately leading to informed citizenship.
2. Guiding the attainment of complex social and civic competences: The project aims to meticulously develop guidelines that illuminate pathways for different stakeholders engaged in supporting migrants. These guidelines will act as a compass, guiding individuals and groups towards the acquisition of complex social and civic competences. Sensitivity to linguistic, cultural and social nuances will be crucial, fostering their autonomy and integration as valued members of a democratic community.
3. Forging pathways to democratic enlightenment: we are dedicated to creating tailor-made pathways through the realm of democratic values, fundamental rights and the essence, values and history of the European Union. These pathways will act as beacons, illuminating the journey of migrants from third countries towards a deeper understanding of European citizenship. This education will enable them to deal with the complexities of democratic participation and contribution.
4. Foundation for future civic education: this project is not just a present effort; it lays the foundation for future efforts. We aspire to establish a solid foundation for future initiatives, including the creation of European civic education courses specifically designed for migrants. The operational model identified in the project's final report will serve as a template for these training offers.
In essence, the project aims to:
1. Weave a dynamic transnational network that promotes innovation, nurturing active engagement of Ukrainian migrants and migrants within European society, thus cultivating informed citizenship.
2. Develop comprehensive guidelines that channel support to migrants, facilitating the cultivation of complex social and civic competences taking into account their unique linguistic, cultural and social context.
3. Designing customised pathways that illuminate the democratic fabric, familiarising migrants with the values, rights and essence of the EU, enabling them to flourish as informed European citizens.
4. Laying the groundwork for future civic education initiatives, paving the way for tailor-made European courses for migrants, anchored in the operational model outlined in the project's final report.

This course stems from the VET Non-formal Digital Learning Opportunities for Low-skilled and VET teachers (NDLO) project and is designed to respond to the challenges of a changing labour market by providing innovative tools that resonate with the specific needs of low-skilled VET learners and VET educators.
The NDLO MOOC and NDLO Guide are designed to provide non-formal digital learning opportunities, created to offer an introduction from basic digital skills to advanced learning methods, such as problem-solving based on case studies and guided self-learning.
Each module is designed to be easy to use, with interactive resources such as quizzes, video tutorials and gamified tools. This approach aims to engage students in a practical and motivating learning pathway, enabling them to retrain and prepare for a constantly changing labour market.
In parallel, the Guide is a practical and inspirational tool for VET educators. It offers innovative methodologies and concrete suggestions for integrating non-formal digital learning into their daily practices. It includes experimental activities, group exercises, assessment tools and tips on how to overcome barriers to learning encountered by low-skilled learners. The Guide also serves as a replicable model, providing educators with a clear framework for improving their skills and optimising the effectiveness of their teaching strategies.
NDLO MOOC lies in its ability to interweave formal and non-formal learning, supporting a holistic approach that values practical experience and self-improvement.

There is a gap regarding 'key language skills', 'basic skills' and 'employability skills'. All migrant adults need a broader set of skills to find fulfilling work and become independent, engaged citizens who contribute to society.
The course is aimed at adult migrants (18 years and older) involved in I-VET and C-VET education and at C-VET trainers/teachers working with technological and digital subjects and is specifically designed to support migrants in improving their language skills and overcome the language challenges they will face in the host country.
This course, which follows the European Centre for Modern Languages, is an online tutor offering an interactive platform, innovative learning tools and self-assessment for self-improvement of language skills.
The main objectives are:
1. Provide VET students (national as well as migrant), VET teachers and the local business community with in-depth knowledge of influencing factors and skills conducive to host national language competences through the development of pedagogical material for future job or business creation;
2. Develop VET teachers' pedagogical approaches - through the improvement of digital competences - which can be used for new VET activities interested in implementing a work-based model for individualised, blended adult learning.
3. Encourage VET students (especially migrants) to become aware of, test and continuously improve their level of language skills through the development of self-assessment tools.

THE BIGGER PICTURE TOOLS project is being developed against a backdrop of continuing global challenges in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals.
These include increasing globalisation, an increasingly digitally interconnected and interdependent world, ethnic and religious conflicts, mass movements of people from conflict zones and poor areas to more prosperous parts of the world, the refugee crisis, climate change, persistent poverty in some parts of the world, and environmental disasters.
Education has a central role to play in ensuring that citizens develop the necessary skills to overcome these challenges and take advantage of the opportunities that arise.
In this context, this course aims to increase the knowledge and pedagogical skills of educators to provide global education and improve the global competence of adults, thus enriching the training of adult educators in Global Learning and Citizenship through the Sustainable Development Goals.

The recent Eurofund survey indicates that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a detrimental impact across all EU countries. Spring 2021 saw a notable increase in negative emotions like anxiety, loneliness, and depression, particularly affecting younger age groups. Around 64% of young adults (18–34 years) are at risk of depression, while senior citizens experienced a significant rise in loneliness.
To address these challenges, a comprehensive educational program and non-formal learning methodology are being developed. The program focuses on enhancing the physical and psychological well-being of individuals dealing with long-term negative consequences of the pandemic. The educational initiative emphasizes lifestyle skills to cope with psychological stress, build resilience, share experiences, and gain psychological support.
An innovative non-formal learning methodology for adult educators, based on storytelling, is a central component. Storytelling is recognized as a potent tool to help individuals make sense of traumatic experiences, empowering them with a sense of control and agency over their lives. Through this methodology, resilience, positive thinking, coping mechanisms for loss and grief, and peer and professional support are fostered.
The approach extends to creating webinars for adult educators working with vulnerable groups, encouraging storytelling, active listening, and empathy. Additionally, an online course is planned for Covid-19 affected populations, focusing on young adults and senior citizens. While both groups faced limitations on physical and social activities, they encountered distinct challenges, with digital skills being a notable differentiator.
The program aims to capitalize on the resilience of senior citizens, who have more experience in navigating adverse life events. By facilitating mutual support through sharing experiences and co-creating solutions, the initiative intends to aid both young adults and senior citizens in their journey toward regaining a sense of normalcy in their lives after the pandemic.

Encouragement of migrant women’s entrepreneurship skills is one of the easiest ways to create jobs for themselves, but the courses are mostly focused on language skills and education. Migrant women need support in their integration into the labour market.
Three partners from Sweden, Italy and the Netherlands initiated and conducted the Erasmus+ Strategic partnership project “Empowering migrant women through building entrepreneurship skills”. The project was focused on developing migrant women’s competencies and their successful integration into socio-economic life.
The objectives of the project were:
– To improve employability, social integration and civic engagement of migrant women through the development of entrepreneurship competencies;
– To encourage social integration of migrant women through social participation and mentoring.
Direct target groups were:
– migrant women (especially the most vulnerable groups: non-Western migrant women and migrant women with a low educational level),
– adult educators working with migrant women.
Intellectual outputs included the following:
– Migrant women mentoring program in English
The program aimed to share experiences of successful female migrants with newcomers and to encourage their integration and social participation by providing aspirational role models, practical advice and psychological support,
– MOOC “Migrant women integration in the labour market” aimed to improve professional skills for migrant women, increase their participation in the activities leading to employment and build key competencies necessary for successful economic integration in the host society and promotion.
– The handbook for social workers and adult educators working with migrant women aimed to tailor their programs to the educational and professional goals of migrant women in English.

The material in this course is based on a cross-cultural approach that reveals the different perceptions of ageing and its consequences in different cultures. In some countries, older people are respected and seen as a societal resource, while in others their competences are questioned and they are seen as a dependent group in need of greater attention.
In some countries, elderly people are cared for by their families, while in others they are cared for by care institutions. The status of social workers is also perceived differently: in some countries (e.g. Lithuania), social workers have the appropriate training and functions, while in other countries, such as Italy, social workers refer to any professionals who provide a range of services to seniors.
These differences and the different intercultural backgrounds have strengthened the collaboration between the project partners in the development of this art-based training tool, which can be used by professionals (social workers) working with seniors as well as by active seniors themselves to mobilise members of their own communities in order to strengthen their competences and achieve a better well-being.
This training course contains the "Social Worker Training Manual" which provides theoretical insights and short examples of practical activities for social workers who work with older people.
The follow-up course consists of 4 modules:
Module 0 - "Theoretical part" where you will find different artistic options to develop the competences of seniors and mobilise their communities.
Module 1 - "Building Group Relationships" provides detailed descriptions of different artistic activities to help mobilise the group and build positive relationships.
Module 2 - "Therapeutic effects of artistic activities for older people with disabilities (practical examples)" focuses on the positive effects of artistic activities on improving the quality of life of seniors with disabilities and provides detailed descriptions of 6 artistic activities with recommendations.
Module 3 - "eLibrary" collects valuable video examples of working methods with seniors in different countries, podcasts, links to online resources and useful literature.
All course material is available in English, Lithuanian and Italian.
The video examples can be viewed using Youtube for live translation.

Project LAB-ADA objectives are to create outputs useful for adults, adult educators, labour advisors, policy-makers, social partners, public employment services and learning providers that can help to create better opportunities for adults with low skills. What is more, the majority of low-skilled adults takes part in learning to advance their career. However, learning opportunities do not always equip them with the skills needed for the labour market.
Only two in three adults think that participation in training helped them achieve positive employment outcomes, such as performing better in their current job, being promoted, getting a (new) job or a higher salary. Further, two in five adults who take part in training, participate in health and safety training only, while knowledge of health and safety is an important requirement to reduce the likelihood of work accidents. We will work in the innovation to make adult learning more interesting and relevant for adults with low skills.
The direct target groups of the LAB-ADA project are low skilled adults and adult educators. Needs of the target groups will be fulfilled, while supporting: a) adults with low skills to upskill and reskill which is imperative for a future of work that is both more productive and inclusive; b) adult educators giving them tools of non-formal digital learning opportunities.
Additional to the Target group of the LAB-ADA project, target group of results use will be:
-Formal and non-formal adult learning providers including secondary schools, colleges, universities, employers, unions, and community centres, non-profit organizations, public libraries, private companies, religious institutions, museums, etc.
-Individuals: Employed, unemployed adults, with the deferent purpose, including job or career reasons, belter wellbeing reasons, educational reasons, or personal interest.
-Adults education administrators, programs designers, etc.
